The management of Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) in Benin Airport has appealed for patience as the contractor and Civil department work to complete the rehabilitation of the runway.

Mrs Michelle Dan-Oshevire, FAAN Public Relations Officer, made the appeal on Tuesday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Benin.

“The essence of upgrading the runway is for security and safety of everybody, all what we need now is little patience; after the upgrading operations will commence immediately.

“The prediction of completion is July 10 that is why we have both the FAAN Civil Department and the contractor working tirelessly to ensure the deadline is met,” she said.

Dan-Oshevire, however, said that the tarmac was open for the use of private jets but would not accommodate commercial aircraft because of size.

Users of the airport had appealed to FAAN to ensure the deadline for completing the rehabilitation was met.
