Family, well-wishers celebrate Pa Folorunsho Agoro as he joins centenarian club

• ‘He Was An Apostle Of Education’
For Chief Folorunsho Braimoh Agoro who recently clocked the centenarian age, the quote: “If you want to live a long life, focus on making contributions,” comes to live, as he has been described as an apostle of education due to the lives he has transformed through imbibing the culture of education, whilst shunning any form of mediocrity at all level.

The centenarian who was born on November 14, 1919 at Bridge Street, Alakoro Marina, was recently celebrated by friends, family and well-wishers at Eko Club, Bode Thomas Surulere, not leaving out high profile personalities, government officials, retired colleagues, governors and their representatives, as they graced the occasion with colourful radiance.

General Secretary of the Agoro Family, Tajudeen Jayeola Agoro, a lawyer who wishes the celebrant more birthday celebrations in good health years to come said: “Pa Agoro is an apostle of education. He has zero tolerance for illiteracy and would go extra miles to ensure that everyone around him attains education at all level. Pa Agoro believes that when you give a child education, you have built him a big castle.”

He further said: “The celebrant who is the head of the family, believes in family-hood. And this has brought about progress in the family. He is a very resourceful man, disciplinarian and has contributed so much to the family and others.”

The celebrant’s children who wished him a healthy and hearty 100th birthday in their encomium said: “Daddy believes in hard work and creativity. He detests idleness. He motivates us to forge ahead in life under whatever circumstance such that even if you fail, he would encourage you to get up and try again. Every line of his words cuts across values, believe, fulfillment, starting small, others.”

General Manager Meritabo Nigeria Limited, Opure enthused: “ Pa Agoro has been a guardian, mentor and leader to us over the years. He is worth celebrating, he is an icon, and he had led a life of greatness at 100 with excellent achievements. I have learnt from Pa Agoro to be hopeful irrespective the challenges that comes my way. Baba teaches resilience and insists that you should never give up on your struggles. He would always tell you to be hopeful because there is a better tomorrow.”
