Deputy Governor of Adamawa State, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, has called on the 935 corps members deployed to the state to embrace the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme, stressing that it is a vital tool for self-reliance.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 2025 Batch A Stream One orientation course at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Damare, Girei Local Government Area, the Deputy Governor encouraged participants to take the training seriously.
“I urge you all to avail yourselves of the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development training in camp to become self-reliant. The future belongs to those who are prepared today,” she said.
Farauta reaffirmed the Fintiri-led administration’s commitment to the welfare and safety of corps members in the state.
“The government of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri is committed to creating a conducive environment for you. We will continue to sustain the monthly N20,000 allowance approved by His Excellency,” she stated, urging them to reciprocate the gesture by adhering strictly to camp rules and regulations.
In her welcome address, the NYSC State Coordinator, Madam Caroline Chinedu Osoroh, lauded Governor Fintiri for prioritizing corps members’ welfare.
“We appreciate the unwavering support of Governor Fintiri towards corps members’ wellbeing. I encourage you to actively participate in the SAED programme, as it is designed to prepare you physically and mentally for the service year and future endeavours,” she told the corps members.
Also speaking, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Barrister Wali Yakubu, commended the ongoing renovation of the NYSC orientation camp.
“The improvement of camp facilities is part of the governor’s effort to ensure your safety and comfort during the service year,” he said.
The oath of allegiance was administered by the Chief Judge of Adamawa State, Justice Hapsat Abdulrahman, represented by Justice Christopher Dominic Mapeo.
