The Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) has approved the promotion of 1,339 treasury officers to various grades.

The commission announced this in a memo to the Accountant General of the Federation dated July 18, 2025, and signed by Mr Dahiru Mohammed Lawal, Director, Promotions, on behalf of the chairman of the commission.

The memo reads in part: “I am directed to refer to your letter ref. No. OAGF/ADM/PROM/002/vol.1/55 of 3rd March 2025 on the above subject and to convey the commission’s decision in respect of 2024 Senior Staff Committee (SSC) recommendations for promotion, conversion, appeal and correction of cadre.”

The memo further informed that the commission stepped down the promotion of some of the officers who were recommended by the committee.

Details of the promotion shows that 138 Assistant Chief Accountants (SGL 13) were promoted to the position of Chief Accountants (SGL 14); 120 Principal Accountants (SGL 12) were promoted to Assistant Chief Accountants (SGL 13); 101 Senior Accountants (SGL 10) were promoted to Principal Accountants (SGL 12); 57 Accountant 1 officers (SGL 9) were promoted to Senior Accountants (SGL 10); 32 were promoted from positions of Accountant 11 (SGL 8) to Accountant 1 (SGL 9).

Also promoted are 173 Assistant Chief Executive Officers (Accts) who now move to the post of Chief Executive Officers (Accts); 230 Principal Executive Officer 1(Accts) promoted to the post of Assistant Chief executive officers (Accts); 109 Principal executive officers 11 (Accts) promoted to Principal executive officers 1 (Accts); 115 from the post of senior executive officer (Accts) to Principal executive officer 11 (Accts); 71 officers promoted from Higher Executive Officers (Accts) to Senior Executive Officers (Accts); 144 were promoted from the post of Executive Officer (Accts) to Higher Executive Officer (Accts).

Others promoted also include 38 Assistant Executive Officers (Accts) who now move to the post of Executive Officer (Accts); three Principal Works Superintendent 11 promoted to Principal Works Superintendent 1 and eight Senior Clerical Officers now promoted to Chief Clerical Officers.

The Commission also approved the conversion/upgrade of 79 officers, rejected the appeal for the correction of the effective date of promotion for three officers, and approved the appeal of two officers.

All the promotions take effect from January 1 2024.
