The Federal Government (FG) has launched the 3MTT programme as part of its plans to develop a total of 3 million technical talents in Nigeria by the year 2025.

This was disclosed in a statement on Friday on the X (formerly Twitter) handle of the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy (FMoCDE).

“As part of our plans to develop 3 million technical talent by 2025, we have launched the 3MTT programme (https://3mtt.nitda.gov.ng),” the post read in part.

The Ministry of Communications added that the 3MTT programme is targeted at generating a pipeline of technical talent across all the states in Nigeria.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, has said that the programme is a key part of FMoCDE’s plans to achieve its objective of becoming a net exporter of talent and significantly grow our digital economy.

“We are now inviting applications from training organisations to train 30,000 tech talents across Nigeria over the next 3 months in this prototype phase,” Tijani stated.

He added that this will be in partnership with the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) as the Ministry of Communications design the most optimal way to deliver technical training to future cohorts.

According to Tijani, this is a unique opportunity to be part of a pioneer group of organisations and individuals in Nigeria’s National Digital Transformation journey.

The Minister added that he is already looking forward to receiving applications at the following link: https://3mtt.nitda.gov.ng.
