FG to create agri-preneurship programmes for youths, women
The Federal Government has said that it would continue to churn out various agri-preneurship programmes for youths and women as a stopgap for gainful employment.
Already, the programmes have been fixed for the existing six geo political zones of the country just as the Agricultural and Rural Management Training Institute (ARMTI) Ilorin in collaboration with McGeorge Consulting Limited have been tasked with the implementation.
According to the Acting Director of ARMTI, Olufemi Oladunni, he said over 600 youths and women across the six geo-political blocks would benefit from the programme. The Rivers West Senatorial District in Rivers state would round off its own aspect of the programme tomorrow.
For the Managing Director of the consulting firm, Raphael Farounbi, the training courses covered such areas as ‘Understanding the Basic Concept of Agripreneurship and Farming as a Business’, ‘Generating Business Idea as Agripreneurial Skills’ and ‘Qualities of Agripreneurs. ‘
Others include, ‘Post Handling of Cassava Roots Tubers, Integrated Farming Technique for Improved Livelihood as well as Developing Business Plan As Agripreneurs, Government Policy and Intervention Funds.’
