Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa state has promised to sustain and be guided by a well-tailored and people’s oriented agenda for transparent and purposeful leadership in the state.

The governor, in his re-election bid in 2023, said he will sustain the culture of adherence to his road map and agenda as done in the last three years.

Finitiri said the Eleven-Point Agenda of his administration has been his map, which helped him deliver efficient and prudent management of the commonwealth in Adamawa.

This agenda, according to him, had helped and guided him in promoting good governance and ideas that are rooted to build a good society that will empower the good people of Adamawa and to overcome the legacy of neglect and failures of previous administrations to promote the wellbeing of citizens in line with the manifesto of his great party.

According to him, he has demonstrated a commitment to fiscal and budgetary discipline, while trying to be prudent in the management of the resources of the state.

An aide to the governor, Marcus Kufana, said the governor’s fiscal realism is what led to the budget size of N244 Billion earlier approved by his predecessors in 2019 reduced to N143 Billion for 2020, which was considered fiscally realistic even for 2019.
His words: “Subsequently, in 2021, the budget size was N140 Billion in view of the COVID-19 Pandemic and its attendant global economic uncertainties.

“After the shocks of COVID-19 with the hope for global economic rebound, Governor Fintiri presented a budget of N163,629,910,040, for the 2022 fiscal year. All these were necessitated by the amount of revenue generated internally, Federation accounts, Capital receipts, Grants and other sources.
“In the service of the good people of Adamawa state, Governor Fintiri is to ensure that no one is left behind and nothing is left untouched.”

Governor Fintiri, he said, also ensured that every budget proposal is implemented above 80 per cent, especially in the 11-Point Agenda of his administration.

“Towards 2023, the governor said has recalibrated the governance policy direction into an eight – Point Agenda to consolidate on the gains of his administration,” he declared.
