Firm launches solar kiosk training to empower 40,000 youths

Elite Logistics and Development Services Limited has unveiled a large-scale training initiative aimed at equipping 40,000 Nigerian youths with skills in the fabrication and use of solar-powered kiosks, in a move designed to expand economic opportunities and promote sustainable entrepreneurship.

The program, scheduled to commence in the last quarter of 2025, will target at least 1,000 participants from each of the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, focusing initially on the North Central region. Participants will be trained in the construction, installation, and practical deployment of the company’s flagship innovation, the Elite Smart Kiosk.

Speaking in Abuja on Tuesday, Mr. David Adesanya, Group Managing Director of Elite Logistics, emphasized that the initiative is intended to provide youths with a tangible skill set capable of generating both employment and business opportunities. “This training programme is a strategic plan to ensure that young Nigerians end the year with a skill that ushers them into robust economic opportunities in the new year,” he said.

The Elite Smart Kiosk is a multifunctional, solar-powered structure designed for various applications, including mobile healthcare dispensaries, ICT booths, convenience stores, POS banking points, exhibition stands, security centers, multimedia hubs, salons, and retail outlets. Adesanya highlighted that mastering the kiosk’s fabrication involves training in carpentry, electrical connections, and solar panel installation, equipping participants with skills applicable to multiple sectors of the economy.

He also urged governments, NGOs, and development agencies to consider adopting the kiosks as an empowerment tool to address unemployment. “The solar kiosk has a significant economic value chain that can lift people from obscurity to prosperity. It is reliable, aesthetically designed, low-maintenance, and capable of creating direct employment for young Nigerians,” he said.

Adesanya further stressed that the initiative is inclusive, targeting young Nigerians of all ages, including those over 40, asserting that the program provides the tools for unlocking individual potential. He encouraged youths in Kogi, Benue, Niger, Plateau, and Kwara states to seize the opportunity to gain skills that could translate into sustainable livelihoods.

The Elite Smart Kiosk training program marks a significant step in Nigeria’s efforts to create practical employment solutions while promoting renewable energy adoption, entrepreneurship, and local skill development.
