A multinational, Sterling Petrochemical and Fertilizer Limited (SPFL), has promised better packages, like offering employment opportunities to promote socio-economic activities and development for the host community of Ikot Abasi and others.
The Base Manager, Mr. Sandip, made the plea when community leaders led by Obongunwana Anthony Ekpe paid a solidarity visit to him at the company site in Okopedi-Ete, Ikot Abasi Local Government Area in Akwa Ibom State.
Sandip also assured them that SPFL is a people-friendly oil firm that will do everything possible to carry the people along in its project and promote peaceful negotiations as part of its civil responsibility to communities in the area.
Earlier, Obongunwana Ekpe, commended the new Base Manager for his drive towards youth employment and being involved in infrastructure initiative development in host communities.
He said that the removal of the old Base Manager and the subsequent posting of Mr. Sandip was a supernatural intervention and that the gesture will be a blessing to the company and the people of the Area.
Obonguwana assured the new Base Manager of support from the citizens to ensure results-oriented service for the company.
