The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has pledged to assist the Kebbi State government to overcome the effect of the flooding that has ravaged 18 communities in the past two weeks.

Director General of the Agency, Mustapha Maihaja, represented by the Deputy Director, Search and Rescue department, Onimode Bandele, during a visit to the government and people of the state over the loss of lives and property as a result of flooding, explained that they were in the state on the directive of President Muhammadu Buhari to convey his deep sympathy to the government and the people of various states affected by floods in recent weeks.

He told the stakeholders at the conference room of the Deputy Governor’s office that they were in the state to hold stakeholders meeting, collates data of destruction and visit disasters areas, saying that would enables the Federal Government, through NEMA, to adequately provide palliatives to the victims.
