The 2026 Forensics Summit organised by the International Academy of Forensics (IAF) in collaboration with The Guardian Newspaper is set to commence on Tuesday, June 23, at 9:00 a.m. in Lagos.

The four-day event will hold at the Tayo Aderinokun Auditorium, Guest Houses and Conference Centre, located behind the Faculty of Law, near the Senate House at the University of Lagos, Akoka, Yaba.

The summit will run from June 23 to June 26, 2026.

With the theme, “Forensic Investigation and Criminal Intelligence: Strengthening the Administration of Justice in the Age of Technological Advancement,” the summit is expected to attract a wide range of stakeholders across the justice sector.

Participants will include forensic experts, legal practitioners, law enforcement and security professionals, academics, policymakers, and other key actors involved in criminal justice administration.

The summit aims to promote the use of scientific evidence, enhance professional standards, and encourage innovation and collaboration in forensic practice.

The programme will feature keynote presentations, panel discussions, technical workshops, and networking sessions designed to deepen understanding of emerging trends in forensic investigation and criminal intelligence.

Organisers noted that the gathering comes at a critical time when the role of forensic science is increasingly vital in combating crime and strengthening public conf
idence in the justice system.

The International Academy of Forensics, an independent organisation committed to advancing forensic investigation and criminal intelligence, is hosting the summit with The Guardian Newspaper serving as the official media partner.

The organisers have invited members of the media and the public to participate in the event, describing it as a significant platform for knowledge exchange and policy dialogue.
