Former APC Spokesman, Bolaji Abdullahi resigns from Sugar Development Council
Days after resigning his position as the Spokesman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Bolaji Abdullahi has announced his resignation as the Chairman of the National Sugar Development Council (NSDC).
Abdullahi announced his resignation from the board via his Twitter handle.
“Following my resignation as National Publicity Secretary of APC and my decision to quit the party, I announced to the board this morning that I have resigned my appointment as Chairman, Nigeria Sugar Development Council,” Abdullahi said.
Mallam Abdullahi joined the wave of defection after he dumped the ruling APC for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Wednesday.
He confirmed his defection a day after he initially denied his move to PDP claiming he came in through the front door and will not leave through he back door.
He cited the constant questioning of his loyalty and subversion of his role as reasons why he resigned his role as the APC Publicity Secretary and ultimately left the party.
Abdullahi is regarded as a ‘loyalist’ to Senate president Bukola Saraki.
The National Sugar Development Council is a parastatal of the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment. The council articulate policies and programmes that will bring about rapid development of the sugar sector.
