Former military gov Mobolaji Johnson loses wife
Ambode, Jakande mourn.
The wife of the former military governor of Lagos State, Brig.-General Mobolaji Johnson, Funmi is dead.
The Guardian gathered that she died on Saturday, February 6.
Although the cause of her death is yet to be established, sources said she died after a brief illness in a Victoria Island hospital.
Since the news of her death broke, family members and eminent Nigerians have been trooping to the Ilupeju, Lagos residence of the Johnsons.
Among the early visitors were Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, first executive governor of the state, Alhaji Lateef Jakande and former Minister of Communications, Mrs. Omobola Johnson and others.
Governor Ambode, in company of his wife, Bolanle and the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Adeniji Kazeem, commiserated with the children and relatives of the deceased, just as he prayed for the fortitude to bear the great loss.
“On behalf of the good people of Lagos, I want to express our heartfelt condolence to the family of Brigadier-General Mobolaji Johnson (rtd) on this great and irreparable loss,” he said.
