Foundation donates relief materials to flood victims

The Lord Echendu Foundation has once again demonstrated her love for genuine philanthropy and service to humanity as they stood in solidarity with the Ekpeye ethnic nationalities who have been ravaged by flood.

Offers scholarships to varsity students

The Lord Echendu Foundation has once again demonstrated her love for genuine philanthropy and service to humanity as they stood in solidarity with the Ekpeye ethnic nationalities who have been ravaged by flood.

In their usual culture, the organisation, locally focused, but globally minded, donated relief materials to the Ekpeye flood victims through their King, His Imperial Majesty, Eze Sir (Amb) Kelvin Ngozi Anugwo, Eze Ekpeye Logbo III.

The monarch, who received the donations, was accompanied by Prince Chibudom Nwuche, Esama Ekpeye Logbo, and former Deputy Speaker, Federal House of Representatives, Dr. Ukechukwu Michael Nyemeni, President General, Uzugbani Ekpeye, High Chief Ikaki S. Ikaki, former Chairman, Ekpeye Council of Traditional Rulers and Chiefs, Eze Emene Okobo, Igbuduya Kingdom, Dr. David Chigemerem, former Secretary, Ekpeye Council of Traditional Rulers and Chiefs and other respected dignitaries and members of the Ekpeye Flood Committee.

Addressing the Lord Echendu Foundation volunteers, led by Arch. Churchill Chisanim Odum, the paramount ruler of the Ekpeye people, warmly welcomed the volunteers and expressed happiness for their support and solidarity.

The monarch appreciated the Director/Chairman of the foundation, Echendu Ndubuisi Anthony Humphrey, for being a detribalised and patriotic leader and prayed for his success and that of the foundation.

The President General, Uzugbani Ekpeye (Ekpeye ethnic nationality apex social -vultural organisation) also poured encomiums on the foundation for its support to the Ekpeye people at this time of need.

Former Deputy Speaker, the Federal House of Representatives, Prince Chibudom Nwuche, called on representatives of the people at all levels to be proactive and work with the executives to find lasting solutions to the perennial flooding, which has caused untold damage and suffering to the people.

Nwuche suggested the construction of dams, which in turn will be used for agricultural purposes in line with international best practices.

To encourage the good works of the Ekpeye students through their ‘Flood Rescue Volunteers’ initiative, the foundation also provided funds for the group to boost their morale and assist them.

Meanwhile, Lord Echendu Foundation, which is gender sensitive and understands the principles of educating the girl child, has equally offered university scholarships to two deserving Ekpeye students.

Miss. Chinatu Destiny Paul and Miss. Vendy May was announced as a beneficiary by the chairman of the foundation.

Recall that the Lord Echendu Foundation has been in the business of serving mankind over the years as it has carried out several intervention projects and outreaches in and out of Nigeria.

The organisation was established to ameliorate the suffering of people through charity work. It is the brainchild of Echendu Ndubuisi Anthony Humphrey, who hails from Ikwerre ethnic nationality, but resides abroad.
