SAMUEL Adegbite Foundation, in continuation of the legacy of its founder, foremost banker, lawyer and philanthropist, the late Chief Samuel Adegbite, has donated 10 suction machines valued at N350,000 to Gbagada General Hospital, Lagos.

Speaking at the handing over of the machines to the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Tayo Lawal, Mrs. Kikelomo Adegbite, who represented the foundation, said the exercise was aimed at continuing with the good works of the founder, who believed in charity, spent his life to lift up the downtrodden and impact on the less privileged, a legacy he passed on to the children.

“He stood for the common adage: ‘Charity begins at home’ and therefore advocated for those that are privileged to go back to their place of origin and help the under-privileged, which is why the foundation he set up has outlived him,” she said.

In appreciation of the gifts, Lawal said the suction machine is one of the resuscitative equipment, which is very useful to the hospital. He added that the equipment would be put into use immediately and distributed to the ten wards in the hospital.

“The foundation came to ask for our needs and we made it known what we needed, which have been supplied today. For this, we are very grateful,” he said.
