Foundation ends Fifth WDEP, empowers 500 women
The NerdzFactory Foundation, in collaboration with Access Corporation, has once again, marked a milestone in promoting women’s empowerment through the conclusion of the fifth edition of its Women Digital Entrepreneurship Programme (WDEP), recently.
According to the Director of NerdzFactory Foundation, Ade Olowojoba, the WDEP continues to stand out as a flagship initiative in the firm’s commitment to social innovation and human capital development.
He said: “By empowering 500 women in this edition, we are not only supporting their individual success but also contributing to broader economic growth and community resilience.
“The WDEP, supported by Access Corporation and executed by NerdzFactory Foundation, exemplifies both organisations’ shared commitment to inclusive growth. Through this initiative, women are given the opportunity to step confidently into the digital age, armed with the skills needed to make a significant impact in their businesses and communities.”
“This initiative has now equipped 500 women from across Nigeria with crucial digital tools and entrepreneurial knowledge to thrive in the ever-expanding digital economy. Since its inception, the WDEP has emerged as a transformative platform, training over 2,500 women to date,” he said.
Olowojoba said the programme is a core part of Access Corporation’s financial inclusion strategy and aligns with NerdzFactory Foundation’s mission to foster social innovation and human capital development.
“The initiative aims to bridge the digital gender gap, enabling women to modernise their business practices and secure long-term success in a competitive online environment.
Participants in the WDEP 5.0 received comprehensive training in areas such as digital business strategies, social media marketing, online business management, business pitching and bookkeeping. These essential skills empower women to effectively scale their businesses, ensuring sustainability and profitability in the increasingly digital world. With this training, they are better prepared to overcome the challenges of the digital marketplace and position themselves as key players in Nigeria’s growing digital economy,” he added.
