The Saleeman Adedoyin Saleeman (SAS) Foundation, The Evergreen Initiative and SheBuildLives, have jointly launched the second edition of “Project Tutored,” a community-driven educational intervention to equip children in underserved communities in Kwara State with academic, digital and vocational skills.

The programme, which commences on July 27, at Government Day Junior Secondary School, Oke Aluko, Taiwo, Ilorin, will benefit over 100 children with free academic tutoring, digital literacy training and practical vocational education.

Ahead of the summer programme, a delegation led by the Summer School Coordinator, Saheed Saliu, paid a courtesy visit to community leaders and other key stakeholders to mobilise grassroot support and strengthen collaboration for the successful implementation of the initiative.

The engagement, according to the organisers, “will ensure community ownership of the project while creating an enabling environment for participating children to maximise the opportunities provided by the programme.”

Building on the success of its maiden edition, “Project Tutored” will expose participants to leadership development and digital literacy, alongside practical vocational skills like bead and shoe making as well as soap production, among other activities for future opportunities.

Originally developed by the Evergreen Initiative and implemented across Nigeria, the programme has continued to gain momentum in Kwara through the support of the Founder and Chairman of the SAS Foundation, Engineer Saleeman Adedoyin Saleeman.

The foundation said the initiative reflects Engineer Saleeman’s commitment to promoting inclusive education by ensuring that children, irrespective of their socioeconomic background, have access to quality learning opportunities and digital knowledge essential for success in today’s world.

The organisers appealed to individuals, corporate nodies and development partners for support through volunteering, donations and other collaboration to broaden its in targeted communities.

According to them: “the programme would not only improve learning outcomes but also empower young people with practical skills that foster self-reliance and contribute to the long-term development of Kwara State.”

Interested volunteers, donors and partners are encouraged to contact the organisers through the designated communication channels for enquiries and participation.
