The Fatima Umar Shinkafi Foundation has facilitated the release of 50 inmates from correctional centres across Zamfara State after settling their debts.

Chairman of the Foundation, Mubarak Sani Maigerema, disclosed that the beneficiaries, including men, women and minors, were held for minor debt-related offences.

“Fatima Umar Shinkafi Foundation has, by the grace of God, successfully settled the debts of 50 inmates ranging from N50,000 to N100,000 in various correctional facilities due to minor debt-related cases across the state,” he said.

Maigerema explained that the gesture formed part of the Foundation’s humanitarian commitment to supporting vulnerable members of society and ensuring that people are not deprived of freedom due to poverty.

The Executive Secretary of the Solid Mineral Development Fund, Fatima Umar Shinkafi, noted that the Foundation was established to assist less privileged people across the state.

She reaffirmed the organisation’s dedication to humanitarian services and appealed to well-meaning individuals to support initiatives that restore hope and dignity to the needy, less privileged, physically disadvantaged and poor families in Zamfara.
