To promote grassroots empowerment and inclusive development, the Dr. Princess Ezinne Agwu–led Charity Initiative, in partnership with Queen Elizabeth Chikamnele Agwu’s Widowcare Foundation, has carried out a comprehensive humanitarian intervention in Uburu Community, Ebonyi State.
The outreach brought together women’s groups, widows, and spiritual leaders from the community’s 14 villages.
Under the programme, each women’s group received four 50kg bags of rice, stockfish, 170 pieces of quality wrappers, and ₦1 million in cash support.
Explaining the initiative, the organisers said the structured cash component was designed to strengthen the operational capacity of women-led welfare groups and promote the sustainability of support systems across the villages.
Widows benefited from distributions of rice, quality wrappers, and financial assistance, while pastors received substantial food supplies and cash support in recognition of their roles within the community.
Observers described the intervention as a model of organised philanthropy that combines immediate relief with community-based economic reinforcement.
According to the organisers, the initiative aligns with broader efforts to strengthen local support networks and promote dignity-driven humanitarian engagement.
