planeFour cabin crew of British budget carrier Thomson needed hospital treatment after a flight from Manchester to Cyprus hit severe turbulence as it neared the Mediterranean island, police said Thursday.

There were no reports of injuries to any of the plane’s 328 passengers.

The four flight attendants were taken to hospital in the resort town of Larnaca after the plane landed at 8:53 pm (1753 GMT) on Wednesday, a police spokesman said.

“They were injured after hitting the ceiling and floor of the plane,” he added.

Hospital officials said a 60-year-old steward had suffered back injuries, while a 50-year-old stewardess had a fractured pelvis.

The other two crew were discharged after treatment for minor injuries.
