FRSC, Army partner on manpower development
THE Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) is to receive support on manpower development on road safety from the Nigerian Army in extension of shared vision of national security and safety.
Making this pledge at the Army headquarters in Abuja, Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Kenneth Minimah assured while receiving the Corps Marshal and Chief Executive of the FRSC, Boboye Oyeyemi that the collaboration would enhance national interest.
Minimah noted that both organisations had always maintained symbiotic relationships that stretch many years back, pointing out that the two organisations would continue to share the vision of national security and safety in the interest of the country.
He also said that “It has been a wonderful relationship between the Nigerian Army and the FRSC, and that relationship covers areas of training, operations, public enlightenment and civil-military relations”.
“That is why the Army has always been active in the FRSC’s monthly walking and jogging exercise, while the Army continues to rely on the Corps in traffic management whenever we have a programme”, the General said.
The FRSC Corps Marshal expressed gratitude to the Nigerian Army for its consistent support to the FRSC, especially in the areas of capacity building and provision of security during in times of crisis.
While assuring the Chief of Army Staff of the willingness of the Corps to continue to partner with the Army for intelligence sharing, manpower development and involvement in road traffic matters for the attainment of national safety and security, the Corps Marshal thanked the Chief of Army for always supporting the Corps.
The Corps Marshal was accompanied on the visit by some principal Officers of the National Headquarters.
