FRSC partners Lagos government on road safety

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and Safeway Special Marshal, Units 13 and 82 have partnered with the Lagos State Ministry of Information and Strategy for a three-day ember months safety enlightenment and education.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and Safeway Special Marshal, Units 13 and 82 have partnered with the Lagos State Ministry of Information and Strategy for a three-day ember months safety enlightenment and education.

The event, tagged: “IBILE Road Safety Campaign” was targetted at major divisions: Ikeja, Badagry, Ikorodu, Lagos Island and Epe.

The ember month’s campaign, which was flagged off at Alausa Secretariat, comprises the officials of the Lagos State Ministry of Information and Strategy led by Mr. Toyin Adeni-Awosika, marshals from Lagos State Sector Command and reporters.

The road safety convoy enlightened and educated motorists and passersby at Allen Roundabout, Ikeja and Ojota garage.

On the second day, the train took its enlightenment to Lagos Island, CMS, Marina, Tafawa Balewa Square and others.

The last leg was memorable as the team went to Cele, Second Rainbow Junction along Mile 2. Motorcyclists, tricyclists and passersby were enjoined to obey the rules guiding the roads.

At Mile 2, motorists and passengers travelling to Cotonou and other places were educated on the need to be safety conscious before, during and after Yuletide and the New Year festivities.

The IBILE Road Safety Campaign reached the top gear, which was the climax of the programme at Maza Maza, where large numbers of inter – state buses were loading.

Motorists were educated and advised to desist from night journey.

The Safeway Unit Coordinators, Marshal Jerry Adewole and Marshal Olabisi Dennis exhort all road users to be safety conscious always.”
