Fubara decries incessant pirates’ attack on sea travellers, vows to fight menace 

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has decried incessant attacks on boat operators and sea travellers by pirates on sea routes in the state, warning that his administration will no longer tolerate such criminality.

IN another development, the Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) has declared full support for Fubara in the face of politically motivated attacks aimed at destabilising his administration.
 
According to the rights group, despite the ongoing crisis with his former political mentor, Nyesom Wike, who is now the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Fubara has made significant strides in infrastructure development, remaining committed to upholding democratic principles by ensuring that local council administration is managed by democratically elected officials.
   
In a statement by its National Coordinator, Emmanuel Onwubiko, the group emphasised that the ongoing plan by Fubara’s administration to conduct local council elections should not be thwarted by the previous local council administration, which was appointed by the former governor, Wike.
