Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has urged Permanent Secretaries in the state civil service to uphold professionalism in their conduct and decision-making.
The governor gave the charge on Friday, October 3, 2025, during the swearing-in of Mr. Austin Ezekiel Hart as a Permanent Secretary at the Government House, Port Harcourt.
Fubara stressed the importance of integrity and adherence to due process, noting that posterity would judge their actions.
“It is proper to always do the right thing so that posterity will judge them right. I will never encourage anyone to circumvent the rules but to provide the right guidance to every administration,” he said.
The governor commended Mr. Hart for his professionalism and urged him to continue offering sound guidance to his superiors while maintaining high ethical standards.
He also directed the Head of Service, Dr. Inyingi Brown, to immediately assign Mr. Hart to a ministry and ensure that the handover process was completed before 6:00 pm the same day.
