Policymakers, regulators, private sector leaders, investors, development finance institutions, and technology providers from across West Africa and beyond are set to advance practical solutions for sustainable growth in green transition at the West Africa Clean Energy & Environment Trade Fair & Conference (WACEE) 2026.

The event, which is in its 14th edition, is schedule to take place from March 17-18, 2026 at the Landmark Event Centre in Lagos, under the theme: “Accelerating West Africa’s Green Transition: Innovation, Policy & Investment.”

This is contained in a statement issued by the organisers of the event — the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Nigeria (AHK Nigeria) — through its service unit, DGIC International Business Services Limited.

The organisers said WACEE 2026 will serve as a strategic platform to advance practical solutions for sustainable growth, particularly at a time when economic growth, rapid urbanisation, and climate pressures are reshaping development priorities across the region.

The organisers said Nigeria, as the region’s largest economy, reflects these challenges at scale – from electricity access constraints and industrial energy costs to waste management pressures and the urgent need for climate-resilient infrastructure.

WACEE has evolved into a leading regional platform dedicated to clean energy deployment, environmental solutions, and climate-aligned industrial development.

According to the organiser, the 2026 edition is expected to host over 1,500 participants and more than 40 exhibitors representing government institutions, private sector companies, multilateral organisations, investors, and international partners.

WACEE 2026 will focus on six strategic thematic areas: Clean Energy & Energy Efficiency; Circular Economy & Waste Management; Water Management; Green Finance & Sustainable Investment; Climate Resilience & Adaptation; and Sustainable Mobility & Green Infrastructure.

The organisers said these priority areas reflect the region’s most pressing structural and economic needs.

The German delegation said they address energy access, industrial competitiveness, climate adaptation, urban sustainability, and the mobilisation of green capital for accelerating West Africa’s transition toward a more resilient and low-carbon economy.

“WACEE 2026 is designed not only as a dialogue platform but as a catalyst for implementation. Beyond exhibitions and panel sessions, the conference will feature high-level policy dialogues, technical workshops, B2B matchmaking sessions, and investment-focused discussions intended to drive measurable outcomes,” the organisers stated.
