Glocient urges strategic planning to grow Nigeria’s hospitality sector

Glocient Hospitality has called on investors to adopt strategic approaches to unlock the potential of Nigeria’s hospitality sector, highlighting the need for careful preparation to ensure sustainable growth.

Speaking at the Hospitality Enterprise Network (HEN) 2025 Conference, Francis Ogosi, the company’s hospitality manager, emphasised that while the sector offers significant opportunities, achieving success requires detailed planning.

“Hospitality in Nigeria remains an attractive opportunity, but success depends on preparation and local awareness. Investors must do their studies, plan their budgets carefully, and acknowledge the operating realities on the ground. With the right approach, the rewards remain significant,” he stated.

The conference, which gathered industry experts to discuss investment prospects across Africa’s hospitality markets, included sessions on networking, brand exposure, business-to-business interactions, and market insights. At a panel titled “Risk, Reward and Reality: Is Hospitality Still a Smart Investment?”, Ogosi highlighted both the opportunities and the challenges facing investors, particularly in remote areas. He identified security concerns and rising operational costs as critical risks that require careful assessment.

Ogosi urged investors to conduct comprehensive feasibility studies, prepare accurate pre-opening budgets, and develop a clear understanding of local business practices before embarking on new projects.

He added that resilience, adaptability, and long-term strategy are essential for navigating the sector.

He also noted that the Nigerian hospitality market continues to show growth potential, driven by business and leisure tourism, domestic travel, and the increasing demand for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE).

The session underscored the importance of strategic planning, sustainability, and collaboration as the industry positions itself for long-term development.
