Cross River State Governor,Senator Bassey Otu, has directed all Commissioners and heads of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to render accounts of their stewardship since he assumed office in May 2023.

The directive was part of a resolution taken at a meeting in the Governor’s office on Friday and made available to newsmen in Calabar by the Commissioner for Information, Dr Erasmus Ekpang. The submissions from MDAs will form part of the state Governor’s scorecard during his third-year anniversary.

“As preparations continue for the third-year anniversary of the People First administration, Governor Otu has directed all heads of MDAs to submit a compressed report of their milestones over the past nearly three years of his stewardship,” Dr Ekpang said.

The reports are to be submitted to the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the State on or before May 1, 2026.

Governor Otu expressed confidence that greater achievements will be realized in 2026 and reiterated his commitment to ensuring that all MDAs meet their targeted results. He also emphasized his determination to maintain an open-door policy and make his administration more participatory, noting that more appointments are underway for various stakeholders.

Additionally, the council meeting approved the sum of ₦339,903,000.00 (Three Hundred Thirty-Nine Million, Nine Hundred and Three Thousand Naira) for the registration of 12,589 indigenous students for the 2026 West African Examinations Council (WAEC) examinations.
