Gov solicits support of traditional rulers
Gov Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi has called on traditional leaders to support his administration in the efforts to improve the living conditions of the people and develop the State.
Bagudu made the call when he received the four first class Emirs in the state during Sallah homage to him.
The emirs included the Chairman of the State Council of Chiefs and Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Muhammadu Bashar, the Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Samaila Mera, the Emir of Yauri, Dr Zaiyanu Abdullahi, and the Emir of Zuru, Alhaji Sani Sammi II.
The governor said he would improve electricity supply through effective collaboration with PHCN, adding that the state had purchased 70 transformers to upgrade power distribution.
He said he would transform the state into the center of rice production by providing inputs to farmers.
He said N200 billion would be invested in it to attract investors to the state.
On verification of local government staff, Bagudu dismissed insinuations that it was a witch hunt, saying it was geared towards a reform of the local government financial system for execution of people oriented- projects.
