Government declares Friday, Monday, holidays
The federal government has declared Friday, March 25 and Monday, March 28 as public holidays to mark the Good Friday and Easter Celebrations.
A statement signed by acting Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Alhaji Muhammadu Maccido, while making the declaration on behalf of the federal government, minister of Interior, Lt. Gen. Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau (rtd), enjoined all the Christian faithful and Nigerians in general to support and join hands with President Muhammadu Buhari in his sustained efforts to build a peaceful, united and virile Nation.
The minister, who wished all Nigerians a happy Easter Celebration, further urged all citizens of the country irrespective of religion or tribe, to use the occasion to pray for peace and unity across the nation.
Easter is celebrated annually to mark the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, which is the foundation of the Christian faith
