NIGERIAN governors have resolved to support the use of modern technology to fight pipeline vandalism and save the nation huge resources being lost to the activities of vandals.

Besides, they said using modern technology would serve a better purpose than using the military and para-military personnel.

Rising from an inter-agency briefing at the Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa, Abuja yesterday, the governors, under the aegis of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF), also used the opportunity to appraise the impact of some of the agencies of government with a view to addressing the challenges being faced and proffer solutions to them.

In separate interviews with State House correspondents after the meeting, which lasted over seven hours, Chairman of NGF and Zamfara State Governor, AbdulazizYari and his counterparts from Edo, Ogun, Oyo and Delta, said the briefing was the brainchild of PresidentMuhammaduBuhari as part of the transparency and accountability policies of his administration and also a prelude to the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting scheduled for Thursday, this week.
