Govt declares Monday, May 2, public holiday to mark Workers’ Day
The Federal Government has declared Monday, May 2, 2016 as public holiday to enable workers fully participate in events to celebrate this year’s Workers’ Day.
A statement signed by Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Bassey Okon Akpanyung, said Minister of Interior, Lt.-Gen. Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau (rtd), who made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government, congratulated Nigerian workers for their resilience, hardwork and commitment to the change mantra of President Muhammadu Buhari in the face of current daunting challenges.
He enjoined them to continue to support the President in his desire to fight corruption, ensure security of lives and property and stabilise the economy through creation of jobs and diversification of the economy.
