Govt Partners 637 Communities For Developmental Projects

THE Imo State Governor, Chief Rochas Okorocha has promised to establish one factory in each of the 637 autonomous communities, for the even development of the state.

Okorocha who disclosed this while speaking with monarchs and community leaders of the communities, from 27 Local councils of the state, disclosed that N5b had been lodged into the Imo Micro Finance Bank, for viable communities to access for the project.

He added that any unviable community would be merged with another, which does not translate to such communities losing its status, but for the purpose of the project.

In another development, the governor said his administration would partner oil-producing communities of Ohaji/Egbema and Oguta local governments to ensure that their dues are made available to them according to the law.

Okorocha, represented by the Deputy chief of Staff (operations), Government House, Owerri, Kingsley Uju, who stated this while addressing some community members of the affected areas, added that they should not feel marginalised.

He said the Imo State Oil Producing Development commission (ISOPADEC), would be allowed to exercise freely according to the mandate given to it, to ensure that the communities within the oil zone received their developmental amenities.
