Given the success of the maiden edition, organisers of the annual Ignite Megastars soccer audition, a football bootcamp dedicated to discovering, nurturing, and promoting grassroot talents across various sports have expressed confidence that the second edition will bring the much needed visibility to grassroot sports talents as European football clubs will jostle for stars from the program in the near future.

Reputed for its unique selection process, the audition has seen hundreds of youngsters troop into the Legacy Pitch of the national stadium in Surulere, Lagos since Saturday, April 5 that season 2 audition commenced. The starlets under the watch of ex-internationals and spectators were pitched against each other to showcase their talent at the preliminary stage.
With lots of display, the players were able to dazzle the special guests and the spectators before cheer leaders who believed in their goals and prospects. They were assessed by independent coaches based on their individual strengths as footballers and ability to contribute to the overall success of the 30 minutes games.
Expressing confidence over the audition, the organisers, C&CD Consulting Limited stated that as the competition unfolds, talented Nigerian youths will get the chance to shine and potentially secure lucrative deals with European clubs.

Speaking on the importance of the scouting program, founder, Ignite Megastar, Ozavive Daniyan stated the bootcamp will help expose, nurture and promote promising stars before European football clubs.
“I’ve been pondering this initiative during the days of my MBA program and I’m glad it’s yielding purpose. I have really planned big for this and I can assure you we’ll be cementing a relationship with top European clubs who will complete the process,” Daniyan said.
“My vision is to change lives by discovering and promoting sports talent. I’m also creating a platform for recognising and developing grassroots sports, with the goal of cultivating a vast pool of world-class athletes in the country. We’re also committed to maintaining integrity and transparency in sports talent identification and selection for youths between ages 16 to 19, allowing top talents to be discovered.
“Beginning with football—Ignite Soccer Stars, will provide the opportunity to both male and female athletes to showcase their talent and rise to stardom, by partaking in the Ignite competitions and undergoing assessment through a transparent system of voting by judges, coaches and fans,” she added.

Lauding the initiative, the co-promoter, Engr. Oloyede Robert commended the organisers. He narrated its significance, applauding Juventus Academy Nigeria for promoting three players from the maiden edition by awarding scholarships to them to develop their talents further.
“Our first edition was massive. We were able as Juventus Academy Nigeria give scholarships to our top talents. We hope to forge more partnerships with different organisations capable of bringing the best out of the boys. These players are the future, and if we want our football to grow, I believe we need to come to the grassroots level,” Oloyede emphasized.
The initiative is endorsed by the Lagos State Football Association (LSFA) and Legacy Sports (official Laliga commercial Agents in Nigeria).
