In celebration of the Yuletide, the Community of Sant’Egidio feted about 1, 500 children living in Makoko and its environs.

The children were entertained with good music after their meal at St Dominic Catholic Church, Yaba, aside playing on the bouncing castles set up by the organiser.

Group’s coordinator, Mrs. Catherine Adebowale said the party was a yearly event for indigent children.

“With this, we want the children to have a memorable Christmas. You could see members of the Community of Sant’Egidio and volunteers eating on the same table with the children,” she said.

Two of the volunteers, Mary Okafor and Esther Ejike said it was the first time they participated in the Christmas feast, but they were happy they did because the joy the children radiated as they were being served spoke volume.
