The indiscriminate use of sirens by politicians in Taraba state despite the directive of the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, seems to be given Taraba State Forum For A Just Society sleepless nights.

The group frowned at the conduct of the governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) for Taraba state in the last general election, Senator Aisha Jumai Alhassan, who is accused of going round the state with siren, saying there is a need for the police to ensure the implementation of the IG’s directives.

In a press statement made available to newsmen in Jalingo yesterday, by the group coordinator, Caleb Galumje and the Secretary General, Nana Dan-Atiku, the group said “should the security operatives continue to ignore such acts by allowing person or persons who is not an elected governor or not allow by law to make use of siren, we will be compel to stop such persons.”

Observing that “ indiscriminate use of siren within the territorial boundary of a state is prohibited under the Road Traffic Law” they seek to known the authority that gave the Alhassan(now a ministerial nominee) the right to go about “ bossing and puffing with siren.”
