Group decries media attacks on Moro
Worried by the constant media attacks on the former Minister of Interior, Abba Moro, a social cultural organisation under the aegis of Idoma Youth Forum (IWF), has said that Moro’s selfless services to the nation would surely vindicate him.
In a statement jointly signed by its President and Secretary General of t
he organisation, Paul Audu and Ocheme Agada, the group said that Moro was a detribalised Nigerian who is supposed to be respected.
The forum while regretting the unfortunate incident of the 2014 recruitment exercise conducted by Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS, where some applicants lost their lives and noted that the decision of the minister to resort to open recruitment was to curb the scam that had bedeviled recruitment exercises in Nigeria.
The group said that Moro was not afraid of facing justice, stressing that he would give account of what happened when called upon to do so.
While emphasising that such investigation must be devoid of witch hunting, the group urged the Muhammadu Buhari administration to be transparent in all matters concerning the tragedy that befell NIS during the tenure of Abba Moro.
It exonerated the former minister from involvement in the problems that led to the suspension of NIS comptroller general and enjoined Paradang’s allies not to blame the immediate past minister for his travails.
