Group decries police’s killing of Isoko youth, vows justice
Isoko National Youth Council (INYC) has condemned the killing of one of its own by police officers attached to the Ozoro area command in Delta State.
The victim, identified as Collins, was murdered during a peaceful march against alleged extortion, harassment and intimidation by security agents in the locality.
In a statement yesterday by its president, Comrade Paul Otunounyo, the group vowed to oppose maltreatment of Isoko adolescents and protect them within the confines of the law.
It stated: “However, we are ready to make sure that the police officers behind the ugly incident are prosecuted, because their act is unprofessional and goes contrary to our extant laws.
“Therefore, we urge our dear youths in Ozoro to remain calm while we employ all available legal means to get justice.”
