A support group for the All Progressives Congress (APC) – The Data Analytics Group for Asiwaju (DAGFA), has given reasons for supporting the candidacy of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for President in the 2023 general elections.

Speaking yesterday at the unveiling of the group in Abuja, the National Coordinator, Niyi Coker, described Tinubu as the only candidate who has raised so many people through capacity building and has proven to be a visionary leader.

Niyi stressed that Tinubu has done credibly well in terms of policy implementation and that his ability to build character and individuals cannot be overemphasized.

He said: “As a support group, our aim is to promote the candidacy of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to emerge the next democratically elected President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).”

According to him, the group uses data gathering tools such as Social Media Data Analytics (SMDA) to highlight and pinpoint where to focus their energy, especially with the spread of malicious information or fake news.

“This will work as our defence on social media to increase APC’s chance of winning, while also giving us key insights as to where in the nation we can plan activities to sensitize and mobilize a support base of at least 10,000 people in each state.

“Social Media Data Analytics (SMDA) is a breakdown of common and relevant interests which will cover a wide geographic area. Therefore, SMDA will identify common interests and preferences of a specific area of people and allows the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council to tailor communication and campaign strategies in a way that targets the electorates to increase awareness for more votes and produce desired results at the end of the day.

“SMDA will also help in strengthening perception, image building as well as reputation management. The use of SMDA will also keep the electorates strategically engaged and allow the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) to keep track of comments that can be used to strengthen the campaign”, Coker stated.

The National Secretary of the Group, Kolawole Sodipo, expressed optimism that with his track record, Tinubu will emerge victorious in the general elections.
