The Nigeria Voters Assembly has commended president Muhammadu Buhari for bailing out states that are facing difficulties paying workers salaries and meeting other state obligations, describing the effort as a vivid act of mercy and benevolent administration.

The group in a statement by its President, Mashood Erubami described president Buhari’s gesture of relief packages of over N713.7bn for Federal, States and local governments, as welcoming and life saving.

The group reiterated that when the packages are released in cash form ,it will mitigate the painful conditions of workers and pensioners and boost the economy as traders and business owners would benefit from the buoyancy that will be enjoyed therefrom.

He said, “the relief is the beginning of the manifestation of the positive life saving changes that the president promised the people and a chance once more to convince the doubting Thomases that the all Progressive Congress ( APC) meant well for the masses.”

“The president has also by this gesture demonstrated capacity for democratic management of the country and has permanently shut the wide mouth of opposition who have been playing politics with peoples life over the unpaid salaries, n manners that have not portray them as having a good grasp of the reasons behind the arrears of unpaid salaries, yet they did not show they understand why they were defeated during the last general elections”

The group berated the a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) saying since its defeat in the last election, the party is yet to come out of the reality of wrong and dirty politics it played with the lives of Nigerians for 16 years.

Erubami noted that the trio of the intervention funds either coming from the excess crude oil account, Soft Loan from the Central Bank and restructuring of subsisting loan to the states will go a long way to cushion the distressed position that the PDP government threw the states into by its vindictive and backward economic policies which created deliberate monthly shortfalls in state revenue allocations, shut the door against raising of bonds and issuing circular banning the taking of stop- gap loans from commercial banks deliberately formulated to cripple the economy of the states and turn the workers against them for political ends.
