The call which was made yesterday in Jalingo, Taraba State by the group in a press statement made available to journalists, expressed dismay at the way and manner the treasury of the state was looted by the administration of the sacked Acting Governor, Garba Umar, stressing the need for persons indicted by the committee assigned with the responsibility of investigating and recovering stolen funds to be brought to book.
The statement which was jointly signed by the coordinator of the group, Terence Joseph and its legal adviser, Nierus Johnson, urged the committee to “make public” their findings and recommendations on the alleged misappropriation of the state funds by some persons.
It called on all the anti-graft agencies to “recover all monies looted or stolen from the state treasury to enable the new government discharge its constitutional responsibilities particularly as enshrined in Chapter Two of the 1999 constitution (as amended).”
