Group urges Buhari to sign disability bill into law

THE Executive Director, Centre for Citizens with Disability, David Anyaele, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to sign the disability bill into law and remove all barriers against physically challenged people.

THE Executive Director, Centre for Citizens with Disability, David Anyaele, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to sign the disability bill into law and remove all barriers against physically challenged people.

The group said this would enable them participate in socio-economic activities as other citizens.

He made the call at the Disability Awareness Week 2015,which was held in Chevron Recreation Centre, Gbagada, Lagos.

Speaking at the occasion on “Sustainable Development Goals (SDGS) and Citizens with Disabilities: The Nigeria we Desire”, the convener, Campaign 2015+ International, Dr. David Tola Winjobi, lamented the lack of data in Nigeria.

He noted that where it exists, it is outdated and inaccessible and has imparted negatively in handling issues relating to people with disability.
