Ahead of the 2023 general elections, the Youth and Media Network Organisation (YOMEN) has urged youths to steer clear of violence, as it would only lead to anarchy and disunity.

The Chairman, Board of Trustees, YOMEN, Ambassador Emenike Nwachuku-Eme, disclosed this in Abuja, during the presentation of a veritable voter education and mobilisation project, with the theme, “Ready to Vote”.

He said that the essence of the workshop was to expose the youths to the imperative of voter education, especially voting procedure, when to vote, why to vote, and where to vote.

He was optimistic that the collaboration would also help to increase the participation of People With Disabilities (PWDs) in the political space.

The Director-General, YOMEN, Mr. Chidibere Solomo, stated that appropriate voter education would ensure free, fair, and credible elections, stressing that INEC as an electoral umpire should be fully committed to conducting a free and fair election by 2023. He appealed for the inclusion of voter education in Nigeria’s education curriculum.
