Gwamna in the throes of a New Nation
RECENTLY, the Oriental Hotel, Lekki, Lagos, played host to high networth guests, dignitaries from the Christian world and the media, as Pastor Chris Delvan Gwamna, general overseer of New Life Assembly Church, Kaduna, launched his new album, at the sametime, unveiled his new commission: to re-build, restore and return displaced Nigerians to their homes.
Titled, New Nation, Gwamna says the album is a cry to God to bring peace to places where crises have led to displacement of people from their ancestral homes in Nigeria, Iraq, Ukraine, Afghanistan, Pakistan and all over the world.
Gwamna’s words: “The album is inspired by the challenges in the north, which has caused a lot of tension in the air, but in the midst of it all, God gave us a word that this is a new nation and we need to use somethings to encourage people that the God, who saved them, would equally deliver them from the hands of their enemies.”
Lionel Petersen from South Africa led song ministrations at the event, which had performances from Cobhams Asuquo and some other guest artistes.
The 11-track album was recorded in Houston, Texas, with Cobhams adding his creative ingenuity to the work that had international instrumentalists such as Joe Camey and Michael Hodge on guitar, David Davidson and the Nashville crew on strings.
Some of the songs in the album are The Greatest of them all, Bread of Life and The Lord is My Light; while the single, Guiding me safely, is available for free download.
