Heineken brings Champions League final excitement to Nigerian cities

As Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan prepare to face off in the 2025 UEFA Champions League final, Heineken is bringing the match-day atmosphere directly to Nigerian fans with a series of viewing events across major cities.

Scheduled for Saturday, 31 May, the initiative titled “One Night, One Game, and One Epic Experience” will see exclusive gatherings staged in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Benin City, Asaba, Aba, Enugu, and Jos. The activations are part of Heineken’s global “Cheers to the Real Hardcore Fans” campaign, which aims to honour dedicated football supporters.

In Lagos, fans will gather at multiple venues including the Intercontinental Hotel in Victoria Island, Terraform Lounge in Lekki, Rhapsody’s and Bheerhugz in Ikeja, as well as Casper & Gambini and Ghosts & Spirit Lounge in Abule Egba. In the capital, Abuja, the Transcorp Hilton will host the city’s event. In Port Harcourt, fans will be welcomed at Piano Lounge and Lesuuka NightClub, while 130 Degrees will host Benin City’s gathering. Best Western Elomaz Hotel is the chosen venue in Asaba, Oris Bar and Lounge in Aba, David’s Hill in Enugu, and Jos Park City in Jos.

Each location will combine live match screenings with entertainment from DJs, food offerings, Heineken beer, interactive games, and prize giveaways. Organisers say the goal is to replicate the energy and excitement of the stadium experience in local settings.

“This year’s UEFA Champions League final is not just a match—it’s a cultural moment,” said Maria Shadeko, Portfolio Manager for Premium Beer at Nigerian Breweries. “We’re blending world-class football with unforgettable local experiences. Through our activities, we’re celebrating the real hardcore fans—the ones who make the game magical from wherever they are.”

The final in Munich features Inter Milan, who reached the decisive fixture after conceding only once in the group stage and defeating Feyenoord, Bayern Munich, and Barcelona in the knockout rounds. Their 4–3 extra-time win over Barcelona in Milan secured their place. Paris Saint-Germain, still chasing their first Champions League title, head into the final with high expectations.

As fans prepare for the showdown, Heineken’s events promise to offer more than just a place to watch the match—providing a shared space for fans to engage with the spectacle, united by football and community.
