Nigerian business leader Folusho Odegbaike, Chief Executive Officer of HYT Consulting, has received the Outstanding Leadership and Talent Development Award at The Corporate Awards in the United Kingdom, recognising her role in driving workforce transformation and leadership excellence across Africa.

Odegbaike, who has led HYT Consulting for over a decade, was honoured for her contribution to human capital growth and organisational performance in emerging markets. Her company, which manages more than 6,000 employees across Nigeria and Ghana, has become one of West Africa’s leading human resource consultancies.

Speaking at a London forum themed “Building Future-Ready Workforces”, Odegbaike joined international executives to discuss how African economies can prepare their talent base for the evolving global market.

“Africa’s greatest opportunity lies in its people,” she said. “At HYT, we’ve seen first-hand how investing in talent can transform organisations, industries, and nations. This recognition affirms our belief that when you build people, you build performance, and ultimately, you build value.”

From a modest start-up of seven employees, HYT Consulting now operates from Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, and Accra, providing HR strategy, learning and development, and performance management services to sectors including telecommunications, energy, FMCG, and finance.

The award, organisers said, recognises leaders demonstrating exceptional influence in business performance, innovation, and people development. Odegbaike’s work continues to highlight the importance of human capital investment as a cornerstone for Africa’s economic growth.
