ICES celebrates 10th year expo convention
The International Cake Exploration Society (ICES), Nigeria, recently held its 10th year cake exploration convention at the Event Centre in Agidingbi area of Ikeja, Lagos.
ICES, which has been ongoing for over 40 years globally, was founded by Betty Joe Steinman in Michigan, the United State (US).
ICES is an international group of bakers who come together from all over the world to celebrate the art of baking, sugar craft and training sessions.
This year’s convention, which was a two- day show, witnessed bakers from all over Nigeria, who came to exhibit and learn new baking skills.
The convention entailed cake classes, ranging from beginners, basics, masters and professional classes, where bakers are given the opportunity to learn new technique and use new tools.
Speaking with The Guardian, a member of ICES, Susan Ogunbayode, who is president and director of the group in Nigeria, said the essence of the expo is to bring bakers from all geo-political zones in Nigeria together.
