Appreciating the importance of training and development in African region, the International Federation of Training and Development Organisations (IFTDO) Board has launched IFTDO-Africa as an affiliate body in Nigeria.
In a release by the organisation’s General Secretary, Udesh Kohli, an African Board of Trustees has been constituted with following pioneer members to steer its affairs: Mrs. Janet Jolaoso, Nigeria, as Chairperson; Dr. Helmi Sallam, Treasurer, representing North Africa; Dr. Gemechu Waktola, from Ethiopia, representing East Africa; Meshack Tafa, from Botswana, representing Southern Africa; Mrs. Belinda Odeh, Nigeria, as Secretary and Tayo Rotimi, another Nigerian, as Adviser.
Rotimi, a past President of the Nigerian Institute of Training and Development (NITAD), had been member of the international board, while Jolaoso was appointed into the board in 2019, both representing Nigeria.
Jolaoso, on her part, is the immediate past President of NITAD, whose administration remarkably repositioned the institute.
IFTDO was founded in Geneva, Switzerland in 1972, to develop and maintain a worldwide network committed to the identification, development and transfer of knowledge, skills and technology to enhance personal growth, human performance, productivity and sustainable development.
