The UKOMU Igala Organisation, one of the foremost socio-cultural bodies of the Igala nation, has fixed Saturday, 6 September, 2025, for the inauguration of its National Executive Council (NEC).
The ceremony will take place at the NBA House in Abuja’s Central Business District, with proceedings scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. It is expected to draw prominent dignitaries, traditional leaders and members of the Igala community from within Nigeria and abroad.
The organisation described the inauguration as a decisive step in strengthening purposeful leadership, with the new NEC tasked to champion initiatives centred on cultural identity, youth empowerment, community development and the wider socio-economic advancement of both Kogi State and the Nigerian federation.
UKOMU’s Board of Trustees stressed that the new leadership will be guided by principles of inclusiveness and accountability, while the inauguration committee noted that the event would serve as a rallying point for unity, cultural revival and renewed commitment to the empowerment of Igala people across the globe.
The organisation has urged Igala sons and daughters, as well as friends of the community, to attend what it regards as a landmark occasion in the history of the group.
