In line with the objective to forestall any unpleasant incidences during the Sallah period, states Commissioners of Police have been directed to strengthen security around vulnerable areas.

The directive issued yesterday in Abuja by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Solomon Arase, via a statement by the force Spokesperson, Emmanuel Ojukwu, mandating “Command Commissioners of Police nationwide to ensure improved and water-tight security during and after Sallah celebrations.”

Arase specifically said, “special attention shall be paid to all places of worships, critical public places and other vulnerable points prone to criminal attack.”

While craving continued public co-operation to ensure effective service delivery, the statement reads, “the Police High Command is hopeful that the operational strategies adopted by the force and renewed collaboration with the public will yield positive results.”

The IGP also felicitates with Muslim faithful as they round off the Ramadan fast, enjoining them and other “citizens to maintain utmost vigilance and courageously continue to support the Police and provide useful information towards preventing and unearthing crimes and their perpetrators.”
