IGP launches tactical assets, inaugurates police mechanical workshop

In line with his commitment and broader initiative aimed at improving the operational capacity and efficiency of the Nigeria Police Force, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, on Thursday, executed two significant commissioning vital to ensuring that officers of the force are adequately equipped and prepared to confront security challenges, enhancing their effectiveness in serving and protecting the public.

The IGP commissioned a state-of-the-art Police Mechanical Workshop equipped with cutting-edge facilities and technology. This is a critical support unit of the force which ensures the optimal working condition of operational vehicles, enabling timely responses to emergencies and effective police operations. This support unit, located in Dei-Dei, Abuja, will maintain the operational readiness of all tactical and operational vehicles, minimising downtime and ensuring mobility during critical operations.

Furthermore, the IGP also commissioned 40 tactical and operational vehicles, including anti-riot water cannon trucks and Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs), at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, further augmenting the force’s arsenal and boosting its operational efficiency.

While reassuring members of the public that the force remains committed to responding effectively to any and all security threats, the IGP warned all individuals and groups threatening the peace and tranquillity of the country that the police are coming for them and will proactively, strategically, swiftly and without hesitation run them out of town.
